Testing & Commissioning Engineer – UPS (Middle East) (UAE)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and validation of UPS systems (Single Phase & Three Phase).
- Conduct functional testing, load testing, battery testing, and performance verification as per OEM standards.
- Configure UPS parameters, perform system integration, and ensure proper synchronization with electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot system faults during commissioning and provide technical resolutions on-site.
- Execute FAT/SAT procedures and prepare detailed test reports.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams for project planning and site readiness.
- Ensure proper installation environment, electrical connections, and safety compliance before energizing UPS units.
- Provide on-site technical support during installation and post-commissioning stages.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and health checks for existing UPS systems.
- Prepare technical reports, commissioning checklists, and documentation for handover.
- Maintain accurate project logs, system settings, and service records.
- Support proposal teams with technical inputs for UPS-related tenders.
- Adhere to local Middle East electrical codes, safety standards, and OEM guidelines.
- Ensure all activities meet ISO, QHSE, and company quality procedures.
- Verify correct grounding, load distribution, and safety interlocks before startup.
Qualification / Requirement
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with UPS systems (online UPS, modular UPS, industrial UPS).
- Strong knowledge of power electronics, batteries (VRLA, Li-Ion), rectifiers, inverters, and bypass systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs) and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using testing tools: multimeter, clamp meter, load bank, IR tester, battery analyzer, etc.
- Experience with LV switchgear, ATS, panels, and power distribution is an advantage.
- 2–7 years experience in UPS testing, commissioning, or field service.
- Middle East project exposure is highly desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel frequently across Middle East sites.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills
Responsible for executing UPS installation and commissioning projects across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and other Middle East regions. Must be familiar with data center environments, industrial applications, and commercial power backup systems. Work closely with the project manager, sales team, and OEM vendors to ensure successful project delivery. Provide on-site training to clients on UPS operation and maintenance. Participation in after-sales support, AMC contracts, and emergency callouts.
Ensure compliance with HSE rules, risk assessments, and safe working practices. Willing to work weekends or extended hours during urgent commissioning phases.
